neglected electrical grid = rising electrical bills

neglected electrical grid = rising electrical bills

In this article we look at just a few key issues of the outdated grid perpetuating fire risks, climate change increasing wildfire threats, utilities failing to modernize their infrastructure and the homeowners footing the bill in the end.
neglected electrical grid

California’s aging and neglected electrical grid is already struggling to keep up with the increased demand during sweltering summer months as homeowners crank up their air conditioning. This excessive strain on the outdated infrastructure leads to more frequent outages that we’ve been seeing year after year. To make matters worse, utility companies take advantage of these periods of high usage by raising electricity rates, allowing them to maximize profits when customers need power the most. It’s no wonder we’re seeing more and more of our neighbors’ houses getting rooftop solar panels installed.

As climate change amplifies extreme heat waves, utility equipment that has lacked proper maintenance and upgrades is sparking devastating wildfires across the state. Yet the corporations raking in billions don’t bear the true cost – it’s hardworking Californians who foot the bill through skyrocketing electricity rates to cover the utilities’ wildfire liabilities. Our money gets funneled into their profits while we’re left choking on smoke and ashes from fires caused by their negligence. It’s a vicious cycle of greed, destruction, and the public being forced to clean up their mess.

To combat these rising costs, California homeowners can:

1) invest in energy efficiency upgrades
2) install a smart thermostat
3) use fans instead of AC when possible
4) seal drafts and insulate properly
5) explore rooftop solar to reduce reliance on utility power

Jump on youtube and just type in wildfires caused by utility company and you’ll probably find many news reports on the subject in your area. It’s getting scary how often it’s happening and all the more reason we think creating our own energy right on our own roofops and using a free resource “sun” is so important to our community.

A message from our Owner:

Hey neighbors!

As a local solar company, we’ve been hearing a lot of frustration lately about those skyrocketing utility bills. With rates projected to surge over 70% by 2026 for some providers, more of us are looking for ways to reduce our reliance on the grid.*

The facts are, utilities are allowed to collect up to 10% profits from us every year, while passing on the huge costs of maintaining their aging infrastructure and wildfire liabilities. Their pricing model even rewards them when we use more energy! It’s a vicious cycle that’s hurting our community.

That’s why we’re passionate about empowering homeowners with solar+battery solutions. Positioning our homes to not be dependent on the grid means avoiding those excessive utility profits and rate hikes.

Solar batteries packaged with solar panels, provide backup power during outages and let you maximize your solar savings by using that clean energy day and night. It’s energy independence made simple!
